The Certificates of Applied Insurance Knowledge are designed to deliver a solid foundation in each of the insurance classes being covered.

These certificates are aimed at persons who are in a customer service, sales and other positions where the learner comes into daily contact with insurance customers. The certificates deliver a sound knowledge for such learners to enhance their competence and confidence in their job and deliver an improved customer experience.

Since the intention of these certificates is applied knowledge, the learning outcomes of these certificates are focused on principles and practice rather than depth of technical knowledge.

At the end of each course learners are expected to:

oExplain how the principles of insurance apply to the specific class of insurance,
oBe aware of legislation and market agreements affecting that class,
oOutline the contents of a typical insurance policy in that class and
oExplain underwriting and claims practice in the class of insurance being studied.

On completion of each the course candidates

  • The GII suite of Applied Certificates are designed to deliver a solid foundation in the insurance class being covered. At the end of each course learners are expected to understand how the principles of insurance apply to the specific class of insurance, know the contents of a typical insurance policy in that class and be able to apply underwriting and claims practice in the class of insurance being studied.

    These certificates are aimed at staff who are in a customer service, sales and other positions where the learner comes into regular contact with insurance customers. The certificates deliver a sound knowledge for such learners to enhance their competence and confidence in their job and deliver an improved customer experience.

    The emphasis of these certificates is on principles and practice rather than depth of technical knowledge. Thus the curriculum of these courses all follow the same pattern, i.e. a study of the insurance principles as applied to that class, any compulsory legislation and/or market agreements, an examination of a typical policy and the application of underwriting and claims practice in that class. A review of relevant or compulsory legislation and market agreements, if any, would beincluded.
